Frannie the dog spent the first four years of her life confined to a lab, where she was used for cruel experiments. The plan was to euthanize her when she could no longer endure the testing, but she was rescued instead.
Frannie’s body bears evidence of the torture she endured. One of her paws was visibly aggravated from being repeatedly stuck with needles. She also has scars. Her ear is tattooed with a number – a sad reminder of how Frannie was seen as disposable and not even worthy of a name.
Frannie was adopted by a patient family that worked hard to gain the traumatized pup’s trust. Slowly, and for the first time ever, she learned what it feels like to be loved.
A year after Frannie was adopted, she was joined by another dog from the same lab, named Gertie.
Adopting the two Beagles influenced their owners to be mindful about purchasing products that do not test on animals.
Beagles are known for their inherently gentle demeanor – a trait that once made Frannie and Gertie targets for cruel experiments, but is now the very reason they’re loved and cherished.
COMMENT
wow. that is so precious. I wish more people would adopt animals that were used for testing. Its so sad that we live in such a cruel and primitive world where we have to to test on innocent animals. Do we really need makeup and other junk? its not fair to torture animals to benefit us humans. we think we are an advanced species but we torture animals in brutal and horryfying ways to benefit ourselves. Its truly disguisting and pathetic. Humans are the worst species on this planet. We are selfish and destructive. By destroying everything else around us we will also eventually become extinct.
Animals are just like us
This treatment of Beagles and many other beautiful creatures is truly abominable Ann’s should be outlawed and made illegal. Man is a sickening animal, and will destroy all that mother nature has provided, ultimately destroying the earth. It will surely implode, not explode…earth cannot breathe, concrete everywhere, global overheating…destruction of the rain forests.Man will destroy himself in the end.
Such a wonderful heart warming story. These beagles where so lucky to find this family and I’m guessing the family feels the same to find them too. It is so great that they feel love not pain. I never got how someone can do that act to animals on those labs. And for these beagles to find this family with such love is a perfect next step in there lives. This familtyhas such big hearts.
It sounds like you are very wonderful people not only
with animals also with children.May God be with you!!
How and where do you rescue dogs used for research?
No testing on animals!!! When will this shit stop! These animals should not have so endure this torture!!! They don’t wear makeup, use hair dye, shampoo, and whatever else they test on them!!! USE HUMAN TEST SUBJECTS!!!!! PAY THEM!!! Poor puppies!!! I’m so happy you have a loving home now!!!
It just sickens me to hear how these animals suffer at the hands of these sociopath monsters!!!!
It needs to stop!!!
Animal.testing is wrong!
Selfish F-ing Humans!!! I’m embarrassed to be a human!
Just like man to use the timid and meek for their selfish purposes. Their lives do not belong to you to destroy.
Thank you to the family who adopted these girls. You are all angels. God bless you for your compassion and for your love.
You are truly beautiful people – what a wonderful selfless thing to do!!
Como pueden ser asi los humanos todos lo destruyen y matan hasta ellos mismo se destruyen donde quedaron los valores los sentimientos
Animals don’t belong in labs, they must stop testing on animals.Test on convicted killers instead!!!!
Always upsets me when I think how dogs are used for research.
Merci!!!!
Bless your beautiful hearts! You have a beautiful family! Thank you for being you.
I am very happy for Frannie and Gertie. Thank you for adopting those dogs. Ban Lab research on animals completely.
WHAT A WONDERFUL CARING FAMILY IF ONLY THERE WERE MORE HUMANS LIKE THEM.
How lovely to read this. What a shame more people don’t adopt rescue dogs instead of spending money on pedigree breeds.
God bless you for giving those 2 beagals a lovkng home! We need to focus on shutting all these labs down!!
I agree.
These facility’s need to be permently closed down.
Lovely heartwarming story. What kind caring people. Both to animals and humans
THESE SO CALLED INTELLIGENT PEOPLE ARE THE NOT INTELLIGENT THEY ARE EVIL TORTURERS & CRIMINALS & SHOULD BE IN PRISON BUT THEY ARE CALLED SCIENTISTS, MENTALLY RETARDED ANIMAL TORTURERS, THIS EVIL HAS TO BE STOPPED PLEASE STOP ANIMAL EXPERIMENTS NOW & FOR EVER, THIS IS NOT RESEARCH IT IS EVIL HORRIFIC TORTURE & GOVERNMENTS ALLOW THIS EVIL TO GO ON, SHAME ON YOU ALL.
The horrible truth is many of these sick experiments are done with taxpayer money and without their knowledge. Many are being done at U.S. Universities. These “researchers” are also protected. Everyone needs to get involved to stop this immediately.
We need to stop animal testing. No animal should have to live to be tortured daily in the most horrific fashion. We call it science, but the sad reality is it is not humane. It is just torture! Who is the real monster?
What an amazing family!! They adopt and rescue! They seem like they have a wonderful home full of love and support! Bless that family!
oh God bless you……….wish every dog was out of that hurtful situation and so loved…….bring me to tears to see how they adapt to love hugs to you
What incredibly wonderful people these are. So patient and so kind. And I noticed how nonchalantly they said they adopted a little blind boy from china. I can hardly believe the goodness in their hearts. May God bless them, now that they have their little rescued family. Years of happiness for them all.
How wonderful! I had a beagle and loved him so much. I miss him terribly and want to rescue Beagles from labs as well. How do you find places to adopt beagles from labs? They all deserve loving homes and want to be one of those homes.
I would love to have one of the Beagles!! I have 5 Chihuahuas!
I rescued a Beagle-walker hound from the RSPCA and one day prior to her being put down at 1/2 her should-be weight. She guarded me like a Queen! RIP Josey. Mommy sure misses you.
4-26-13. They are the sweetest dogs along with Rotties, Pitties, Goldens, Jack Russells, some others.
NCE PEOPLE THESE ANIMALS NEED LOTS CARE LOVE THEY HAVE SUFFERED VILE ACTS OF CRUELTY AND PAIN I WISH THESE EXPERIMENTS WOULD BE ABOLISHED NOW
Animals are not meant for experiments.
Thank you so much to this lovely family
When animals are respected and cherished, the wonderful God who made us is pleased.
Remember this: God sees all and waits.
My heart just broke
A big “thank you” to this kind family. You have done wonders for these poor dogs. Well done!!
Can we try and understand and accept the fact that for the sake of research, they believe that animals are expendable? They are not. Our so called human race has always done what they want, not matter what the harm, cruelty, death of a animal of God no matter what the cost.
There are many ways of doing research.
I wonder do these so called research people have any idea of what they do to innocent creatures?
For example, to give a dog, MS for the sake of research. Are we even close to a cure. NO! Just think if we found a cure for most cancers, developed a replacement for fuel oil, found a way to pave our roads with a substance that would stand up to the weather. We most likely can DO all these things, but because we would lose jobs, greed and fear, being selfish, always wanting more! WE DO NOT! The day is coming to answer for ALL the wrongs that we have made in our so called nation and our world. The day IS coming. Trust me on that. Love is the way, but where did we last see love and did we share it with another human being? NO!

What a wonderful story!! Thank you so much to the marvellous rescuers!! ♥
Vivisection is, and always has been, in opposition not only to all that is good and decent, but also the opposite of what could be considered “scientific.”
As Britain’s first woman physician, Anna Kingsford wrote:
“The spiritual malady that rages in the soul of the vivisector is in itself sufficient to render him incapable of acquiring the highest and best knowledge. He finds it easier to propagate and multiply disease than to discover the secret of health. Seeking for the germs of life, he invents only new methods of death.”
And that statement is so very true. Prof. Pietro Croce, M.D., who was ‘trained’ in vivisection, wrote the following book, explaining how ridiculous vivisection is, based on scientific principles.
VIVISECTION OR SCIENCE: A CHOICE TO MAKE

What an incredible couple. If everyone had a tenth of their compassion, the world would be in a much better place.
Lee, You are so right. 🙂
Evil barbarism EVIL people
Animal testing is disgusting. How does this continue? Do you see their pain? Hear their screams? Who works in these labs – you are inhumane monsters!
Thank you God for the family that rescued these two beautiful dogs. I’m so happy they are living in their forever home without fear. Only love.
Why oh why do educated people who should know better torture animals by experimenting on them ? Please stop STOP!!!
Stop all animal testing=research and make it illegal.
Barbaric! Despicable
I believe that the people who abuse Gods creatures in the name of science will see the faces of these abused creatures in there dreams for ever they will come back and haunt them
What a lovely family, all of you.
THANK-YOU to the WONDERFUL family for saving these two dogs lives and loving them. BLESS YOU!
