Welcome to the Urgent Need Fund, the first ever Lady Freethinker grants program! We are introducing this program to help support organizations involved with the medical care of animals in need.

The Urgent Need Fund is comprised of two different grants. (1) The Animal Crisis Grant could support your organization’s veterinary expenses that occurred within the past 6 months. (2) The Critical Care Grant is for an organization that is planning or currently working on a project that involve medical services and medical supplies.

To determine whether the Urgent Need Fund may be a good fit for your organization, please consider that your organization must be:

• Registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the U.S. or must be a Registered NGO in your country;
• An organization established for at least 2 years;
• An organization with annual income between $50,000–$500,000 USD;
• Able to provide your organization’s most current Form 990 or Form 990-EZ. If your organization is outside the U.S., please send a copy of your NGO Reporting Form.

Animal Crisis Grant

The Animal Crisis Grant supports organizations by covering veterinary bills and medical costs that occurred within the past 6 months. Recipients of the Animal Crisis Grant may be awarded up to $5,000 USD.

To apply for the Animal Crisis Grant, please submit the following:

(A) In an email, please describe your organization’s need for funding;

(B) Email a copy of veterinary bill(s) with a description of the medical services or procedure. This could include medical costs associated with veterinary care (Example: Clavamox). Please provide photos, if applicable.

(C) Email documentation of your organization’s tax-exempt status;

(D) Provide a copy of your Form 990 or 990-EZ. If your organization is outside the U.S., please send a copy of your NGO’s Reporting Form.

Animal Crisis grant applications are accepted throughout the year at any time (there is no deadline). Submissions for the Animal Crisis Grant will be reviewed monthly.
