A Rottweiler named Hank, who was abandoned in a home in Vermont for several weeks and found without food, water, or heat, is now thriving with his new family, according to local news.
Hank’s story captured the attention of his future family — who had previously cared for four Rottweilers — when they saw it air on a local television station.
“We were watching WPTZ, and that’s when we noticed that Hank was a rescue,” said Nettie Payant, one of Hank’s guardians. “Hank happened to find us, and we found Hank.”
Living on over 90 acres of land, Hank now enjoys a loving family, ample space to explore, and a future free from suffering.
After losing almost 80 pounds due to his neglect, Hank is turning the corner and currently weighs over 90 pounds.
“He was scored on a body condition score, one out of nine, which is the final stage of starvation for a dog,” said Heather Bent of Potter’s Angels Rescue, which helped care for Hank before he was adopted. “So he was basically saved in just the nick of time.”
Kyle Gratton, the man allegedly responsible for Hank’s neglect, was charged with animal cruelty.
Lady Freethinker is overjoyed by Hank’s happy ending and praises Potter’s Angels Rescue and the Payants for positively transforming his life forever.
