With temperatures in Knoxville, Tennessee dropping to single digits this winter, outdoor dogs without adequate resources to stay warm needed help.
That’s why Lady Freethinker provided funds to ChainFree USA, a local organization who delivered straw bedding for over 200 dogs as well as 20 insulated dog houses.
Bogo, who previously had inadequate supplies to keep him warm, received straw bedding to protect him from the cold.

Zyon, who lived indoors for the formative years of his life, sadly became a tethered outdoor dog. Now, this sweet pup and his furry siblings – Midnight and Bailey – have a brand new insulated dog house and straw bedding to keep them cozy during the bitter winter.

Dogs are intelligent and sentient beings who deserve protection from the elements. When they are forced to live their life outdoors, with little to no supplies to keep them warm, it is only natural for them to feel stressed, scared, and unhappy.
We ask all dog guardians to keep their companions safe and sign our pledge, promising to keep dogs inside – where they belong.
LFT is working tirelessly to help dogs left outdoors through our Break the Chain campaign: we have posted billboards in cities that reach extreme temperatures in the winter and summer, provided a template to ask policymakers to ban chaining and tethering, sponsored backyard builds to free dogs from their chains, and supplied insulated dog houses and warm bedding to dogs in Georgia and Tennessee.
We are deeply grateful for your support, which allows us to keep dogs warm and safe. LFT will continue fighting to Break the Chain and help bring dogs everywhere indoors — where they belong.
