PETITION TARGET: Colonial Heights Commonwealth’s Attorney Gray Collins
Three puppies in Colonial Heights, Virginia were found covered in urine and feces in a sealed plastic container. The puppies showed signs of extreme neglect – including skin infections, developmental issues, and a heart murmur, according to a local news report.
The shy and fearful puppies possibly had little to no human contact before being rescued. Officials stated that the container showed signs of condensation indicating prolonged confinement in unsanitary and unsafe conditions without ventilation or care.
Police carried out a search warrant at the home of the individuals accused of the neglect and found six dogs and two dead puppies. Two of the adult female dogs were taken for urgent veterinary care.
Four individuals have been arrested and charged with multiple counts of obstructing justice, animal cruelty, and animal abandonment. No animal deserves to be neglected and abandoned.
Sign our petition urging prosecution to the furthest extent of the law and preventing anyone convicted in this case from having animals in the future.
