Since 2021, when Lady Freethinker created the Urgent Need Fund to help support animal rescue and protection projects throughout the world, more than $260,000 has been awarded to deserving organizations.
The 2025 application process will open for applications starting on July 1 at 9 AM PST. Applications must be submitted by August 9 at 5 PM PST via the designated application portal.
We can’t wait to hear about all of the worthwhile projects animal-focused organizations across the globe are working on!
We are also beyond grateful to Lady Freethinker’s supporters for enabling us to continue important program that offers so much help to suffering animals.
Over the years, funding has gone to a huge variety of amazing projects that made positive changes for animals. Funds were granted to spay/neuter projects for dogs and cats from reservations in the southwestern U.S. to Morocco to Barbados; shelters assisting low-income families with veterinary care to enable them to keep their animals; and building enclosures at farmed animal sanctuaries for rescued pigs and cows.
Both domestic and international organizations are able to apply for consideration, provided the projects they seek to fund involve rescuing and caring for animals or improving the treatment of animals. Requirements include being a registered 501(c)(3) or NGO for at least 2 years, providing documentation including tax filings, financial reports, and bank statements. Check out full details here.
