Plant-based restaurant PLNT Burger celebrated the opening of its newest location with a delicious surprise: the launch of award-winning nutritionist, Tracye McQuirter’s, 10,000 Black Vegan Women.
On October 22, the socially-distanced event kicked off in the Old Town neighborhood of Alexandria, Va., where the new PLNT Burger restaurant is located. Guests received a complimentary dinner before heading over to the nearby African Heritage Park.
“Among PLNT Burger’s core values is our desire to…[offer] delicious burgers as an entry point into eating plants,” said celebrity chef and co-owner Spike Mendelsohn in a recent press release. “We are thrilled to be opening each new store with purpose and intention, and to celebrate Tracye and her 10,000 Black Vegan Women’s program.”
McQuirter launched her plant-based movement earlier this month in order to uplift the health of Black women worldwide.
In honor of its success, PLNT Burger and McQuirter collaborated on the Tracye O’Tasty, a new milkshake made from chocolate oat milk soft serve.
“I’m so excited about this collaboration,” said McQuirter. “I believe we have the power to take back control of our health, save the planet, and help the animals by choosing plant-based foods every day.”
Lady Freethinker applauds the efforts of both Mendelsohn and McQuirter for promoting plant-based foods, and for putting healthy eating on everyone’s plates.
