After spending two days trapped in a pipe hidden beneath concrete, a kitten is now safe and sound thanks to the diligent effort of firefighters in Izmir, Turkey.
After residents altered them to the predicament, rescue crews reported to the scene and found the kitten by using thermal cameras.
Rescuing the cat was no easy feat, as footage of the ordeal shows. The firefighters used a hammer to break and dig through the concrete before carefully creating an opening in the pipe that was just big enough for the kitten to squeeze through.
As soon as he was able to, the cat wiggled his way out from the hole and found himself in the hands of a waiting firefighter, who gave the kitten a few treats to keep her calm.
Lady Freethinker applauds the emergency personnel who acted urgently to save this innocent animal’s life.
After reading of so many acts of brutality directed against innocent animals it lifts one’s heart to be reminded that there are still many animal heroes out there! Bless them.
This is amazing!! thank you firefighters of Izmir.
It is so good to see heartwarming stories of these rescues. Keep them coming, they are so uplifting. I don’t want to see animals in those dire situations, but is is wonderful to see the people who are the real heroes in rescuing them.
Great job guys!!! This story makes me feel really good. You’re HERO’S to that little kitten… Long happy life to the kitten I hope she finds a good family that will love her and care for her…
good job
Thank you sir for rescuing this kitten ,you are a hero .I’m wondering what happened to the kitten after it was rescued ,was it brought to the shelter?
Hope someone took her home, cleaned her up and gave her a loving forever home.
These firefighters are true heros.

How did they “alter” this poor cat?
I think you actually meant “the residents ALERTED them to…”
I hope the cat was taken in for a vet check and adoption after her terrifying ordeal.
Firefighters gentlemen with a pure soul and limitless compassion. If only we’d have millions of them, what a sweet and safe world it would be for animals and humans alike.
There’s a good news story. Well done to those firefighters.
