When one of these owlets fell to the ground, rescue workers noticed that the nest was falling apart. So they built the owlets a temporary dwelling using a basket and other materials, such as twigs and soft greenery. A tree service installed the safe, new nest.
Thanks to the kindness of these people, the owl family could reunite and resume their lives as usual — the most ideal outcome in a situation like this.

If you encounter an owlet that appears to be abandoned, or an injured owl of any age, call your local wildlife authority right away. Contacting an agency that is qualified to handle the animal as soon as possible could mean the difference between life and death, especially if the bird must be transferred to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.
