The Troy, Michigan Police Department has recently hired a new staff member: “Pawfficer” Donut!
When the department decided to get a resident cat for moral support, she was the perfect pick and was brought to her new workplace/home from the local Humane Society. Since raising her right paw and being sworn in, Pawfficer Donut has begun training for her job to “purrtect and serve.”
he’s a very vocal and cuddly kitty, and even gets to supervise, er, tolerate the canine unit!
Congratulations to Pawfficer Donut on her new job and forever home!

It’s so nice to see Pawfficer Donut is on the job. She’ll do a fine job of “purrtecting and serving” ?
Cats have a subtle and healing energy that does give emotional support, and always brings smiles.
Excellent choice, Troy PD ? Keep her safe. Have lots of laps available.
Thank you to everyone who protects and speaks out for animals. God bless you all. So thankful this kitten has a loving and forever home.
Well done!
How sweet!! Look out bad kitties!!
So sweet — so beautiful — big thank you to the great Officers for taking this cutie in and making her part of the family.
You PO’s at Troy, Michigan are awesome to rescue animals from the Humane Society!!
keep her safe . thank you for loving her
I love cats. This one’s cute, very cute. I hope the Troy PD takes special care for her and keeps her away from other
4-legged ‘officers’ of the K9 PD.
I think what the Troy Police Dept. is doing is gr8 idea. There should be an investigation lauched in into K9 anx miltitary dog abuse.??????
I agree. NO animal should ever be abused. And to have K9s at the center of controversy is just unconscionable.
These dogs are OFFICERS / MILITARY, with rank, and should be treated as such. They are not ORDINANCE.
And they are not pawns in political decisions. They are brave and loyal, and do their job with NO questions asked.
Even if it means their life.
Purrecious!!!
Oh how awesome, you go Michigan Police Department. So cute!!!!!!
Let’s hope they are kinder to the cat (probably will be) than police and military are to their K9 dogs behind the scenes.
Dogs have died (usually on the “training” field or shortly after) from the abuse.
That is awful, they should be reported and not allowed in the k9 department, I thought police dog where protected by law?
Please do not blame all the military on their K9 deaths..most times our ‘buddies” die from mistreatment by the companies assigned to get them to the field of duty eg AMK9 and APH
I’m pretty certain Pawfficer Donut will be very much loved. Nothing brings out the best in a tough person better than a kitty. I hope they keep us updated on her progress.
My nephew is a police officer/K9. From my experience, officers and their K9s are totally devoted to each other.
Even military dogs are cherished for their talents and their just being a friendly, furry face. I can’t count the petitions signed to keep dogs and their handlers together after deployment. The public is wising up and letting the companies who train military dogs that they need to treat them in the way they should – they are NOT “objects”, and disposable.
Things do need to change, and with lots of support and our voices, things should. Keep on fighting.
FIGHT FOR ALL ANIMALS! Right?
Nice to read a good news story. Well done Troy Police, you’ve done a good thing.
Oh this is so cute! What an adorable kitten – glad the cops rescued her and
she will have a fun life with them.
No vid!
