Two British women have been charged for their roles in an international group coordinating and funding monkey crush videos where long-tailed macaques are tortured, mutilated, sexually assaulted, and killed on camera in horrific ways.
Holly LeGresley (37) — who was reportedly known online as “The Immolator” and allegedly helped commission some of the group’s most violent videos — and Adriana Orme (55) were allegedly both part of a monkey torture ring responsible for setting monkeys on fire, putting monkeys in blenders, and otherwise torturing the innocent animals, as reported by Metro News.
Both women are charged with “publishing an obscene article” — a charge which includes filming content that causes grave harm to others. They are also charged with “causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.”
These charges follow the recent arrest of a U.S. man known as the “Torture King.” LeGresley and Orme are two of at least 20 people across the globe being investigated for working together to fund and sell thousands of animal crush videos filmed in Indonesia showing monkeys tortured and killed in a variety of violent ways.
Lady Freethinker (LFT) and Action for Primates have spent over two years investigating the sadistic world of animal crush videos. Our information spurred the BBC documentary “The Monkey Haters,” which helped lead to the inclusion of animal cruelty in the UK Online Safety Act.
Monkeys are highly intelligent and social animals who do not deserve to suffer gruesome bodily harm for profit, “entertainment,” or any reason.
Lady Freethinker commends UK law enforcement for taking the sickening industry of monkey torture seriously and advocates prosecuting anyone participating in animal cruelty to the fullest extent of the law.
