Building on October’s #FindYourFido partnership with the ASPCA, dating app Bumble just tossed a hot, eligible male celebrity heartthrob into their online dating pool.  And if you swipe right and tell Bumble why you should be declared his ‘match’, you’ll have a chance win a date with ‘Riverdale‘ star KJ Apa and spend the day alongside him, volunteering at an ASPCA partner shelter in Los Angeles, California.

On Instagram, KJ posted,

“So stoked about this opportunity to partner with @bumble and support the ASPCA this holiday season.”

Along with the amazing chance for you to win a date with this adorable Kiwi, which includes being flown out to L.A., Bumble will also be donating $50,000 to the ASPCA®.  That will help so many homeless pets in a variety of ways including the extra care and rehabilitation funds needed for animals rescued from puppy mills, dogfighting rings or hoarding cases.

The benefits shelter animals get from one-on-one attention by volunteers is enormous.  It can turn a scared, lonely animal into one who is outgoing, more trusting and highly adoptable.  And the benefits humans receive in return are boundless.  Making friends with like-minded people, gaining confidence, lowering blood pressure, simply being around animals has been proven to have huge health benefits.  And while you’re making friends with KJ, maybe you’ll meet a shelter animal who’ll become your new best friend.   KJ says he’s got plans in store for the winner:

“It’s gonna be a fun day. It might even be more than a coffee!”

The contest is open to Bumble users in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.  When you download and open the Bumble app, look for KJ’s in-app card on Bumble Date and Bumble BFF; then swipe right to match and be entered to win.  KJ says he is a life-long animal lover, and wants to help prevent cruelty to animals, so the ASPCA is a cause close to his heart.   He’s looking forward to meeting the winner of the contest and volunteering at the shelter.
