Peter is a Bali Heritage Pig whose future once seemed tragically foretold. Like the more than one billion pigs slaughtered for food every year, his life was likely to be short and defined by exploitation. But Peter is one piglet in over a billion. He survived, and escaped the meat industry.

After being surrendered by a pig farm at just five weeks old, his life took a completely new trajectory, leading him to the Bali Farm Sanctuary. With the help of caring people like you, Peter is now living the life we wish for all animals – a life of safety, freedom, joy, compassion, and respect.

Thanks to your support, Lady Freethinker provided a vital grant to support the development of the sanctuary. It serves as a place where the stories of rescued farmed animals are being rewritten, and a platform that inspires others to see animals with compassion.

Today, Peter spends his days doing what pigs do best: rooting in the earth, napping in the sun, receiving belly rubs, and snuggling in a cozy bed – all while surrounded by kindness and care.

Little Peter has received a rare happy ending, but we can and must create more stories like his.

Together, we are achieving a more compassionate world for all species: building systemic change while always saving those we can.
