Thanks to compassionate supporters, five dogs in rural Florida are finally enjoying the freedom and comfort they deserve.
When we first learned about Freya, Rex, Copper, Zelda, and Gemini, they were living on chains after a devastating wildfire swept through rural Florida, destroying their family’s property. With limited resources and few options, their caregivers were struggling to provide the safe spaces these dogs needed.

Through a grant from our Animal Aid Fund, we partnered with Dogs ChainFree to help transform these dogs’ lives. Together, we funded fencing, doghouses, shelters, beds, flea protection, water buckets, and other essential supplies to create secure areas where the dogs could finally live untethered.
Today, their chains are gone.
Instead of spending their days confined, these dogs now have room to run, explore, play, and rest comfortably in protected spaces of their own. Their newfound freedom is a powerful reminder of the difference compassionate action can make for animals in need.

We are deeply grateful to LFT supporters for making projects like this possible. Your generosity helps provide direct assistance to vulnerable animals around the world and gives them a second chance at a better life.
Dogs are sentient, sensitive beings who want companionship and need safety, security, and proper shelter. They should never be forced to live confined to chains or tethers.
We invite you to sign our pledge to keep dogs chain-free and to share it with friends and family.
If you encounter a dog who appears to be neglected, tethered for long periods, or deprived of adequate food, water, or shelter, please contact local authorities or animal welfare officials.
