Celebrity chef Spike Mendelsohn’s plant-based restaurant chain, PLNT Burger, is serving up delicious, cruelty-free holiday specials that are now available for delivery, takeout, and catering.
The holiday feast, curated by Mendelsohn himself, starts with a winter green salad, which has roasted beets, delicata squash, pumpkin seeds, Follow Your Heart goat cheese, and a sherry vinaigrette. The main course is a truffled mushroom wellington with red wine jus, which comes accompanied by citrus-glazed carrots, maple-glazed Brussels sprouts and apples with candied walnuts, and potato and kohlrabi gratin. Finally, this delicious meal ends with a chocolate peppermint mousse dessert.
PLNT Burger is also running an ‘Eight Crazy Days of Hanukkah’ special until December 18 with an $8 spicy or crispy chik’n funguy sandwich and small herb fry combos.
These plant-based dishes make for hassle-free holiday meal planning, giving us one less thing to worry about during these stressful times.
Mendelsohn has been in the food industry for more than three decades. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and has worked with world-renowned chefs and restauranteurs like Gerard Boyer, Thomas Keller, Sirio Maccioni, and Drew Nieporent. His fame grew following his appearances on Top Chef, Life After Top Chef, Iron Chef America, Late Night Chef Fight, and Beat Bobby Flay. He even hosted Midnight Feast and Kitchen Sink.
PLNT Burger — founded by Mendelsohn, Julie Farkas, Ben Kaplan, Seth Goldman, and Margarita Herdocia — is a 100 percent plant-based restaurant chain that frequently nestles inside of Whole Foods. This restaurant hopes to bring people joy, respect and celebrate all life, act with intention, connect to the source, and achieve change together, according to their website. And they’re doing just that this holiday season.
