An innocent dog who was callously dumped over the fence of a New Jersey shelter has been adopted and is now enjoying a pampered life with a family who loves her, Fox 29 News announced.

After watching surveillance footage, the Humane Society of Atlantic County discovered it wasn’t the suspect’s first time abandoning a dog at the shelter. 6 ABC reported that he was caught on camera throwing three other pit bulls over the fence in the middle of the night in April 2024.

When the dog was found, patches of fur appeared to be missing from her back, and the appearance of old scars suggested to the shelter that she may have been burned. The Humane Society of Atlantic County staff took her in and began showing her the love she deserved. A Facebook post by the shelter indicated that they named her “Brenda.”

A short time later, the shelter posted some exciting news.

“Get ready for a heartwarming update on the pup that captured our hearts!” shelter staff wrote on Facebook. “Brenda’s new family flew in from Texas and fell in love with her at first sight.”

The Humane Society of Atlantic County reported that Brenda is thriving in her new home, surrounded by a loving family and two canine brothers. A photo of her, adorned in a pink shirt, rainbow-colored shades, and hot pink nail caps, was featured in the comments.

“Remember the dog that was thrown over the fence? Here she is, now named Snookie, with one of her two new brothers,” the staff wrote in the caption of a video posted on Facebook. “They are playing in their backyard in Texas, and the pool in the background was built specifically for dogs.”

Meanwhile, the man who cruelly threw her over the fence has been apprehended by the police, according to News 12 New Jersey. He faces a slew of charges, including several related to animal cruelty and neglect.

Lady Freethinker commends the Humane Society of Atlantic County for their unwavering care and support for Snookie. Their initial post not only contributed to the arrest of the suspect, but also paved the way for her to find her forever home.
