After pleading guilty to the charge of conspiracy to create and distribute hundreds of animal crush videos, Jacksonville, Florida, resident Nicole Devilbiss will be spending the next four years and three months in federal prison.
Devilbiss was an administrator of an online group centered around the gruesome torture and killing of innocent monkeys, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The group also funded the torture, mutilation, and death of helpless baby monkeys. After locating videographers in various countries who would make their sadistic visions a reality, Devilbiss helped set up a payment system to provide the funds to the filmmakers.
When law enforcement searched Devilbiss’s home, they discovered evidence of multiple animal crush videos of monkeys. They also found a diary in which Devilbiss expressed her desire to locate a monkey in Florida who she could personally torture and film.
“Through our relentless pursuit of justice, alongside our sheriffs with Clay County, Jacksonville and St. Johns County, we have exposed a network of depraved people inflicting unspeakable cruelty on monkeys, who record their suffering and share it for profit and perverse pleasure,” Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Tallahassee Assistant Special Agent in Charge Nicholas Ingegno said in a statement.
Monkeys are clever, mischievous animals who possess unique, distinct personalities. They feel love, stress, and pain — and no monkey deserves to live their life in fear and agony.
Devilbiss is just the latest to be sentenced to federal prison for creating and spreading monkey torture videos.
These disturbing online groups first began to be unearthed in 2021, when Lady Freethinker and Action for Primates infiltrated the ugly world of monkey torture groups that were spread across Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and other social media. Though information and intelligence provided by Lady Freethinker, the world learned about these sadistic crimes in the BBC documentary “The Monkey Haters.”
No living creature deserves to be maimed or killed for entertainment.
Lady Freethinker applauds the work of Homeland Security Investigations, law enforcement agencies, and the prosecutors and judge who helped deliver justice for the innocent monkeys abused and killed in this heinous case — and advocates that all other monkey torture cases be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
