PETITION TARGET: U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida Ariana Fajardo Orshan
UPDATE (10/11/2021): Veterinarian Prentiss Madden was sentenced to 272 months — or more than 21 years — in federal prison for sexually abusing dogs, posting videos online of the bestiality, and receiving child pornography, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
Madden pleaded guilty to three counts of receipt of child pornography, one count of possession of child pornography, and one count of creation of an animal crush video in Miami federal court in July. He was sentenced Oct. 8.
Madden confessed to recording himself engaging in sexual activity with dogs and sharing those videos. He also admitted to accessing child pornography via a DropBox link, social media, and other online platforms and to storing those illegal images online and in his cellular account, according to CBS Miami. He could have faced a maximum imprisonment of 87 years for the acts.
Home Security Investigations-Miami and Miami Dade Police Department investigated the case, with help from the Hialeah Police Department, U.S Customs and Border Protection, and Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
We thank the more than 47,599 people who signed our petition demanding accountability for this animal abuser.

In a horrifying case of abuse, a trusted veterinarian allegedly committed acts of sexual abuse against defenseless dogs and also was found with more than 1,000 images and videos depicting child and animal abuse, according to WSVN.
Police traced an image depicting bestiality back to an animal hospital in Florida where Medical Director and Veterinarian Prentiss Madden treated rescue dogs and beloved pets, according to the Department of Justice.
Federal investigators found a mobile phone containing sickening photos of the suspect allegedly engaging in sex acts with animals, along with more than 1,000 images and videos of child pornography. Investigators also found numerous chat messages that discussed sexual abuse of children and animals.
Authorities charged Madden with animal crushing and two counts of child pornography — federal crimes. He faces up to 37 years in prison if convicted.
The investigation was a part of Project Safe Childhood, a federal initiative to combat child sexual abuse and exploitation, and is a disturbing reminder of the connection between animal and child abuse. These innocent dogs and children deserve justice.
Sign this petition urging U.S. Attorney Ariana Fajardo Orshan to prosecute the perpetrator to the fullest extent of the law, including the removal of his veterinarian license and a ban on possessing animals for life.
