Legengary actor James Cromwell shocked the crowds at a SeaWorld “Orca Encounter” killer whale show when he, along with a group of PETA protesters, took over the performance to deliver a message: SeaWorld is cruel.
“These wonderful animals that you’ve come to see — they’re in pain,” Cromwell told spectators.
He went on to say that SeaWorld should build sanctuaries for the orcas because they are suffering in captivity. Indeed, a shocking 40 orcas have died in SeaWorld’s care — none of them from old age. That very day, three-month-old orca Kyara passed away.
Cromwell was arrested for his actions, but not before he got the message out: Orcas should not suffer for our entertainment.
