Recently, San Bernardino County deputies embarked on an unexpected wild pig chase. When a call came in about an escaped pig “the size of a mini horse,” Deputies Shelly Ponce and Ashleigh Berg of Highland Station headed to the scene.
They were able to determine where the pig lives, thanks to tips, but were still tasked with bringing him back home. One of the deputies remembered that she had a bag of jalapeno-flavored snack chips in her lunch bag, and led the pig back home by making a trail of crumbs.
The massive pig was successfully returned to his residence, after which the deputies secured the gate and continued on with their shift.
Thank you to the diligent law enforcement officers who responded to the call, for figuring out a humane way to get the pig back home!

Well done! Pigs are such intelligent and compassionate animals and I’m sure this little escape artist is quite the companion animal!
Yay! Rejoice! Good animal news for a change!! Thanks, officers!!
GOD BLESS THESE POLICE OFFICERS WHO HAVE SUCH HUGE HEARTS. THANK YOU

Would make a cute Dorito commercial!!
Thanks for the story. Let’s hope it has a long and happy life.
What a great story. Thank you both for being so kind and considerate to this lost pig. It doesn’t matter what kind of animal it was , we all should be more considerate to all animals
Thank you all for getting the pig home safely.
