Deta’s now-deceased caretaker left the dog to her daughter, Theresa. And when Theresa takes Deta to the cemetery to visit the gravesite, she never wants to leave. In this video, there are tears when Deta’s new family gently tells her that it’s time to go home. According to Theresa, Deta makes a beeline for her former owner’s gravesite whenever they visit the cemetery.
Deta’s loyalty to her deceased owner is symbolic of the intuitiveness our canine companions possess and their ability to feel emotions, reminding us of the importance of caring for our pets the way they care for us — including their emotional wellbeing.

So touching.
How precious she knows where her master went, they never stop loving.
AMEN..WELLSAID 🙂
Oh, God, this makes me weep. This dog must have loved her owner very much. No one can convince me dogs have no souls. They love us with every fiber of their being and make us the center of their world. We have many people in our lives; our dogs have only US. It really makes you think, doesn’t it? Love, Robin, loving owner of rescue pups Sammi and Fudgie, who light up my life every day
Awwww, God love this baby! Her deceased owner obviously absolutely doted on this sweet pup! This kind of transcends all and this is more than evident. Thank God someone is taking extra good care of Deta and takes her to her deceased owner’s gravesite to visit. Sweet lil’ darlin’! I agree Wyn…..Grief IS love that has nowhere to go.
I love that Dog.
Grief is love that has nowhere to go…..
So sad. But it is good Deta was told her owner is dead. Most pets just have to wonder why did their belowed owner forsake him/her. Because Deta knows her owner is dead, she has a bigger possibility to recover than pets who do not know!
There is no loyalty like that of a beloved dog. Remember Hachi, the dog in Japan who waited nine years at the train station for her master to come home (he had a heart attack one day at work). Many tried to adopt Hachi but he wouldn’t leave and finally died waiting. There is a statue erected in his honour at the station.
Animals love is very deep & pure so this is not surprising. I wish humans could understand this love about animals
Deta will grieve herself to death sadly. RIP “Gramma” know how this is.
Pets grieve for their for departed owners or handlers. I recently saw a picture of a K9 sitting on top of the grave of their departed police handler obviously grieving for them. It was very sad. ????
