When pet parent Russell Jones noticed his beloved dog Bill limping, he took him to the vet for x-rays, hoping to find out what was wrong.
As it turns out, Bill wanted to show sympathy for his guardian, and the compassionate pup was simply imitating Jones, who is in a plaster leg cast and with a limp of his own.
Heartwarming footage of the pair traveling haphazardly down the sidewalk and entering the vet’s office went viral on social media, garnering more than two million views so far.
“Cost me 300 pounds in vet fees and X-rays,” Russell wrote in the video’s caption. “Nothing wrong, just sympathy. Love him.”
Numerous studies in recent years have shown that pets and their guardians influence each others’ behavior and that dogs tend to imitate their guardians, even when doing so is not in their best interest, the Sun reported.
This uplifting story reminds us of the remarkable and unique bonds our beloved pets can form, and that they are worthy of our respect, attention, and care.

This video is so disturbing. How is it that it was STAGED to be recorded? Also, the dogs behavior is concerning, and it is definitely behavior related to some kind of discomfort. Is this owner abusive???
If this doesn’t prove that animals are sentient beings I don’t know what will
“Bill wanted to show sympathy for his guardian, and the compassionate pup was simply imitating Jones…” What ridiculous nonsense!! While the X-ray will rule out broken bones, it will not detect other painful possibilities. I’m suspicious of what really happened to Bill. And, I’m sure the owner knows what happened to him.
You can fool some of the people ALL of the time, some of the people some of the time, but there are those you cannot fool at all.
Those who save animals from cruelty on this earth deserve a special place in Heaven.
That dog is worth the vet fees and much more! Lucky man to have such a friend ♥
So precious!!
Thank you for the loving uplifting story. Dogs are so loyal and full of feeling for their guardians.
