A baby deer was struggling desperately to stay afloat in the waters of Port Jefferson Harbor off Long Island, NY. Hope of survival seemed slim…until Storm the golden retriever arrived on the scene.
On a walk with his owner, Storm jumped into the water and swam quickly toward the drowning fawn. He then took hold of the frightened animal and, cheered on by his owner’s yells of “Storm, bring him in!” brought the deer safely to shore.
Storm continued to nudge the fawn, who was barely moving but thankfully still alive.
Now recovering at Save the Animals Rescue Foundation in Middle Island, N.Y., the deer is regaining its health with antibiotic treatments and plenty of baby goat formula.
Way to go, Storm!

I bookmark these pages right away! Thank you a lot to the author for such a fantastic post.
It reminded me in http://www.rtjournal.org/summer-jobs-for-students/, I
think your website is at least as great as theirs.
I will certainly come back into your own page to read new articles
later on! Good luck!
why can’t humans be more humane and not glory hunters? instead of taping his dog rescuing that fawn he should have gone and saved it himself.
I agree diane and cindi humans must help animals instead of filming it. I just saw a woodpecker mother defending her babies against a snake. instead of filming it they should of helped. I think they just want to look good for people on the internet.
@yi think the dog thought it was something to play with or attack but the owner reenforcing to leave it, the dogs attitude changed to attack mode to why isn’t it moving and trying to get it to move….but either way he did good and got it out of the water…how the heck did it end up in the water??? so strange.
This just shows that under kind supervision animals can be trained to be helpful instead of hostile. Rescuers instead of fighters. Wonderful!
I agree!
So remarkable of that dog saving that baby deer’s life!! I enjoyed the video!! 🙂
Magnifique!J’espère que le petit est vivant et a retrouvé sa maman
Why do people have to keep filming rather than helping, I just don’t get it!
Exactly. And he let the dog paw and bite at the poor thing too. Some people just don’t have any sense.
