Duncan, a pit bull-terrier mix, was found abandoned on a porch in the wake of Hurricane Irma. When rescuers found him, he was covered in wounds thought to be inflicted by the storm.
Now in a shelter, Duncan seems understandably depressed. But as this video from Inside Edition shows, kind shelter workers are there to give him lots of hugs and kisses to cheer him up as he waits for a new home.
A shocking number of animals were left abandoned — or even tied up — as hurricanes ravaged the U.S. over the past weeks. It’s important to remember that these thinking, feeling animals are victims too, and it’s our duty to protect them from disaster.
So glad Duncan was found and is on his way to finding a forever home. Looks like he has suffered enough. I hope he gets all the love he deserves from now on.
WE ALL NEED TO PUSH FOR FELONIES FOR THIS SHIRT!!!!!! FELONIES AND HORRIFIC PUNISHMENT TO ANYONE THAT ABUSES, NEGLECTS OR ABANDONS ANY ANIMAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m glad that this dog made it out alive and is being cared for by the staff at the shelter.
I can’t understand why people abandon animals in a natural disaster (or any other time for that matter). I understand even less why people would tie tgem up and then abandon them. At least let them go (as abhorent as thus action is itis better tgan tying tbem up). The bastard(s) that did this should be tied up and mulitated themselves. See how they like it.
He looks like he was either used as a bait dog or a fighting dog. I hope he finds a good forever home. May God bless those who help animals in need.
This is a clear example of humankind gross egocentric ignorance toward all other “living souls” on our SHARED planet home !
HUMANS NEED TO GROW UP AND BE RESPONSIBLE MUTUALISTIC CARETAKERS OF ALL LIFE ON THIS “ROCK”; NOT JUST THEIR OWN HIDES !!!
These “People” (And I use the term VERY Loosely) deserve to be tied up in a hurricane. At best we can hope for is Full justice for animal abusers!!!
Amen!
So which shelter is he at
How can we help him, adoption etc
Come on folks when you write stories like this there are great folks who will help but give websites address, shelter information etc.
Totally agree!
PEOPLE REALLY SUCK! THE VERY FIRST THING I DID LIVING IN FLORIDA IN THE WAY OF IRMA WAS TO MAKE SURE MY DOG HAD EVERYTHING. HIS FOOD FOR MONTHS COLD WATER ABOUT 5 GALLONS OF IT HIS TREATS, EVERYTHING TO MAKE HIM FEEL SAFE AND BEING WITH ME ALL THE TIME THROUGHOUT THE WINDS AND RAIN. WHY PEOPLE GET ANIMALS AND THEN SOMETHING HAPPENS LIKE A HURRICANE OR STORM THEY TEND TO FORGET ABOUT THEIR FOUR LEGGED CHILDREN AND ONLY WORRY ABOUT THEMSELVES. SO SORRY TO SAY ALOT OF PEOPLE OUT THERE DO “NOT” DESERVE ANY ANIMAL AT ALL EVER!
<3
Or they get them for their kids and nobody now wants to look after them, so they use this “Act of Creation” a sister an excuse to “get rid” of it!!
You are absolutely right!
oui c’est sûr il a été dans des combats de chiens vu toutes les cicatrices qu’il a !
pauvre chien
Poor darling. I hate that animals were abandoned. Where I live we are under threat of hurricanes too , but I wouldn’t even consider evacuating and leaving my eight rescues (yes I’ve been a foster fail eight times).
He looks like was used in dog fights.
all ya need is love
I thought the fields were going to be auto-filled. What happened? Thanks! [email protected]
This is a great story. If I could, I would take this dog in a heartbeat. Regarding auto-fill,I thought the same thing. I signed up for auto-fill as well, but usually I have to fill in my own.
likely the autofill is for the petitions, not comments…..
