When birdwatcher Ian Ellis headed out for a day of viewing his feathered friends, he never expected to see this.
Peering through his telescope, Ian spotted a group of cows acting quite strangely. They were digging intently through the mud — but exactly what they were digging up remained a mystery.
Curious, Ian walked over to the cows, and was shocked to see a baby seal buried in the mud — the pup had somehow wandered three miles from the ocean!
Ian did the right thing, and called on the Natureland seal sanctuary in Skegness, who brought the seal to their sanctuary and administered the medical attention she needed.
The seal — named “Celebration” in honor of Natureland’s 50th anniversary — made a full recovery, and was successfully released back into the sea.
Beautiful! — Thank you for this wonderful rescue!
Cows are so awesome, that’s why I love them- especially the brown ones (how now brown cow)!
I guess I am missing something. I’m very glad the baby survived. But all I see with respect to the cows is a still of them standing around in a group looking at something curious in their area. I was expecting a video. I think this one is kind of a reach, which has a tendancy to make us animal lovers look like we’re making things up to get our point across, and that’s never a good thing.
I serious doubt that seal pup traveled three miles without a little two-legged help. I’m just glad it turned out OK.
All animals are sentient beings. These cows show the empathy 1 species may have for another. Bless all the animals in the world.
So greatfull for people like Ian and the rescuers. How wonderful that we have people like them on this planet!!!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!
The beauty and intelligence humanity by animals to animals. What a shame . It’s a shame some humans do not have these traits
Even these wonderful cows act more human than other people who ignorantly hurst and torture animals!
Fully agree!
