PETITION TARGET: Dauphin County District Attorney Francis T. Chardo
The frozen bodies of two dogs and a cat were found in an abandoned Pennsylvania home with no heat or water, according to local news. The dogs’ bodies were found gaunt, with their bones protruding beneath their fur – appearing to have starved in the bitter cold. Over 50 piles of frozen excrement were found in the squalid home, as well as trash – including the torn remains of food bags.
Neighbors informed investigators that the owner of the house hadn’t been seen in a couple of months, and the desperate howling of the dogs could be heard about a month after the homeowner’s disappearance.
The individual has since been charged with three felonies for aggravated animal cruelty and three misdemeanors for neglect.
It’s heartbreaking to think about the desperation and fear these helpless animals must have felt in the merciless cold.
Sign our petition urging the Dauphin County District Attorney to prosecute this man to the fullest extent of the law — including a lifelong ban on having animals.
