A sweet 2-month-old puppy now named Raisin was thrown over a fence along the Tujunga Wash, a 13-mile-long stream in Los Angeles County, California.
Neighborhood surveillance video revealed the suspect opening the trunk of the car and hurling the puppy, who was inside a crate, over the fence, according to news reports.
A concerned resident who saw the footage searched the wash until finally spotting the tiny black puppy, who had several injuries and had to be rushed to an animal shelter for emergency care.
Officials have charged a man with one count of felony animal cruelty, according to news reports.
It’s crucial that whoever threw this dog over the fence and left her for dead is held fully accountable for those intentional actions and prevented from causing any further harm to other animals.
Sign our petition urging prosecutors with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office to treat this case with the severity it deserves, including a maximum ban on owning animals for the person(s) responsible.
