PETITION TARGET: Supreme People’s Procuratorate
A puppy was allegedly found in the hallway of an apartment building in Chongqing, China, with devastating injuries, including several broken bones, a tail that had been severed, and teeth that appeared to have been ground flat, according to The Straits Times.
Neighbors said they had previously witnessed a man in the building abusing dogs and alerted police, but said no action was taken. Shortly before the puppy was discovered, residents also reportedly filmed him harming a dog on his balcony.
Adding to the horror, the man apparently presented himself as a passionate animal adopter, advertised on social media seeking free dogs, and claimed his kids “absolutely loved puppies,” only to allegedly acquire dogs and cats for animal torture videos he reportedly sold online — with officials stating that three injured puppies ultimately required treatment.
Although Chinese authorities have detained the suspect and launched an investigation, it is crucial that he be held fully accountable to help ensure justice for these innocent animals.
Sign our petition urging the Supreme People’s Procuratorate to prosecute the individual responsible to the fullest extent of the law — including mandating intensive psychological intervention and a lifelong ban on having animals.
