A dog named Lola allegedly endured unimaginable suffering in Des Moines, Iowa, when she was reportedly dragged at high speed by her leash from a vehicle window for at least eight blocks and repeatedly slammed against the pavement and the car’s tire as witnesses reported hearing her screams from hundreds of feet away, according to local news.
By the time Lola’s collar reportedly snapped, she had already suffered devastating and extensive injuries. Despite receiving round-the-clock emergency care for broken bones, abrasions, and organ dysfunction, the damage was too severe, and veterinarians ultimately made the heartbreaking decision to euthanize her.
While a man has been arrested and charged with animal torture in connection with this heartbreaking case, it is crucial that he be held fully accountable for the apparent prolonged and excruciating suffering Lola experienced to help secure justice for her and deter future acts of cruelty.
