In a horrifying animal cruelty case out of Louisville, Kentucky, a husky named Sammie was reportedly found abandoned near a golf course inside a garbage bag, suffering from severe injuries and bound with twine around her muzzle as she cried out and struggled to escape, according to local news.
The man who discovered the abused dog said she appeared to be in immense pain, and although efforts were made to save her life, she ultimately had to be humanely euthanized due to the extent of her injuries.
The terror and agony Sammie likely experienced in her final moments are heartbreaking. Although an investigation is underway, it is critical that whoever is responsible is held accountable to help prevent another defenseless animal from being subjected to such cruelty.
