PETITION TARGET: Largo Police Department
Two dogs were allegedly pushed from a moving U-Haul behind a café in Largo, Florida, according to local news. Frightened and disoriented, they ran into traffic — leaving one fatally struck by a car and the other suffering significant injuries after being hit by a vehicle traveling 60 mph.
Making this tragedy even more heartbreaking, Pear — the dog who died — recently had puppies and was nursing. Apple, her brother who miraculously survived, was found with a hernia, a skull fracture, and additional serious trauma.
While the rescue organization helping care for Apple reportedly knows who dumped these defenseless dogs, it is critical that they are found and held accountable before any other innocent being is harmed.
Sign our petition urging the Largo Police Department to thoroughly investigate this case and identify the person or persons responsible for abandoning Pear and Apple so they can be made to answer for their actions.
