PETITION TARGET: Hurricane City Police Department
In a barren stretch of the Utah desert, two large dogs were abandoned in a cramped cage without food or water, according to local news.
Trapped and helpless beneath the unforgiving sun, the dogs likely would have been doomed to die a slow and agonizing death if a couple of hikers hadn’t stumbled upon them.
They were then brought to the shelter by police. However, neither dog had a microchip or collar — which makes finding those responsible for dumping the innocent dogs difficult.
“In a case like this where they’re found in a cage, they left them to die,” local resident Andrea Kaz told news. “This wasn’t, ‘Hey, maybe you can fend on your own.'”
Police are reportedly investigating the case, but no suspects have been revealed.
Leaving an animal caged without food or water in the desert is a death sentence. It’s important that we send a strong message that animals’ lives are not disposable.
Sign our petition urging the Hurricane City Police Department to investigate this case thoroughly to locate those responsible and hold them accountable — before any other innocent animals are harmed.
