On a bitter cold night in Detroit, Michigan, a tiny puppy was found wrapped up in plastic, still alive and abandoned on the freezing, wet sidewalk.
The young German shepherd mix had likely been lying out in the cold for hours before he was discovered, taken into custody of the Michigan Humane Society and rushed to an emergency clinic where veterinarians tried their hardest just help the innocent pup make it through the night.
Tragically, the heartbroken staff reported that the puppy died before morning.
No dog deserves to suffer this fate. It is crucial that Detroit law enforcement treat this case with the severity it deserves. Anyone capable of causing such a miserable death to an innocent puppy is a danger to both animals and people.
Sign this petition urging Detroit police to make this case a priority and do all they can to find the cruel individual who left this poor dog for dead in the streets -- and then prosecute to the fullest extent of the law, including a lifetime ban on having any animals.
Anyone with information on the case should call Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP or MHS at (313) 872-3401; a $5,000 reward is available.
