PETITION TARGET: Sheriff John Montgomery & Baxter County Sheriff’s Office

UPDATE (6/23/2022): We sent our petition, signed by more than 23,000 people, to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office urging for a thorough investigation. Unfortunately, despite multiple checks back, we weren’t able to obtain any additional information about whether anyone was connected to this horrific act. We’ll keep doing all we can for animals. —Lady Freethinker Staff

Priss, a beautiful two-year-old tabby, was left injured and in excruciating pain after someone brutally shot her in the face with an arrow in Mountain Home, Arkansas. After this violent act, Priss was left clinging to life, her face torn apart by the arrow that completely punctured her nose, tongue, throat, and neck. The arrow narrowly missed her vital organs, which would have killed Priss instantly.

Priss was a neighborhood cat whom local business owner Tammy Reynolds frequently fed and cared for. Shortly after the attack, Tammy found Priss with an arrow protruding through her nose and eye. Upon seeing Tammy, Priss bolted away, traumatized and afraid. Tammy feared the worst and returned home, horrified about what she had seen.

Miraculously, Priss appeared at the doorstep of Tammy’s business a few days after the attack. The arrow was still painfully lodged in her face, but she was alive. Tammy rushed her to the vet to remove the arrow, and Priss is now recovering from her dire wounds.

Sign this petition to urge the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office to utilize all of their resources to find and prosecute the perpetrator of this horrific act that almost claimed Priss’ life. They must set a precedent that animal abuse will not be tolerated, and will be punished to the full extent of the law.
