Three puppies are getting the happy endings they deserve after the police officers who helped rescue them from an alleged neglect situation welcomed them into their own homes, according to People.
Wade, Oni, and Roman each found forever homes with a different officer from New York’s Watertown Police Department, while Keira, a fourth puppy rescued in the same investigation, was adopted by another family and also is reportedly flourishing.
“Cases like these are never easy, but thanks to the teamwork of our officers, Jefferson County Dog Control, and our community, these puppies were given a second chance,” the Watertown Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.
While it’s unclear what conditions these vulnerable puppies were found in, they now have the chance to leave their difficult beginnings behind, heal, and start fresh with new families committed to their care.
“Congratulations to our officers on their newest family members!” the department concluded. “We know Wade, Oni, and Roman have a bright future, and we can’t wait to see them grow!”
Lady Freethinker hopes these puppies enjoy many happy years ahead and applauds the officers whose compassion helped make that possible.
