To mark World Veterinary Day, Lady Freethinker’s first-of-its-kind mobile veterinary clinic – launched in July 2025 in partnership with Jakarta Animal Aid Network (JAAN) – delivered a vital cat sterilization drive this weekend in some of Jakarta’s most underserved communities.
Bringing care directly to areas where veterinary services are rarely accessible, the mobile clinic provides immediate support to vulnerable animals while preventing countless more from being born into hardship.
In collaboration with the IPB University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, over 100 cats received sterilizations and treatments this weekend. But this work goes far beyond individual care. By humanely reducing overpopulation, we are addressing the root cause of suffering, not just its symptoms. Every single sterilization:
• Prevents future litters of kittens born into hardship
• Stops suffering before it begins
• Eases the burden on communities already struggling with limited resources

A Lifeline Made Possible by You
Operated by JAAN as part of their program supporting Jakarta’s delman communities, where hundreds of working horses live under extremely harsh conditions, the mobile clinic helps not only these horses, but also stray cats, dogs, and other animals, many of whom previously had no access to care; and while these communities often care for their animals, they sadly lack the resources to provide the help that’s needed.
Prevention that changes everything
In areas where veterinary care has never been accessible, this mobile clinic is a lifeline – not only responding to emergencies, but preventing them.
Built on a One Health approach, we recognise the connection between animal welfare, human well-being, and environmental health. By improving the lives of animals, we are strengthening entire communities.
You Made This Possible
Because of you, this clinic is on the ground every day, delivering:
• Free, lifesaving care for horses, cats, dogs, and other animals
• Vaccinations, deworming, and urgent medical treatment
• Humane sterilization to reduce stray populations
• Essential veterinary supplies for low-income communities
• Education to promote compassionate, responsible animal care
None of this would exist without you. Because of your compassion, we are not only treating animals in need, we are empowering communities with the tools, knowledge, and support to create lasting change.
Together, we are stopping suffering before it starts.
