A man from Texas has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to one felony count and one misdemeanor count of cruelty to non-livestock animals, according to local news. Timothy Carles Brockman also cannot have an animal for five years after his release.
Brockman’s 10-year prison term covers the felony cruelty conviction and a felony burglary offense for which he had been on probation. He received a 90-day sentence, with credit for time served, for the misdemeanor cruelty conviction.
The charges followed inspections in February and March 2026 at a home near Colmesneil, Texas. Brockman lived there and operated SETX Paw Patrol with his girlfriend, Ashley Dawn McFadden. The rescue accepted dogs after promising to find them homes.
Deputies found dogs crowded into stacked kennels, and many seized in March did not appear to have access to food or water. Dog waste was in every room, and plastic totes, coolers, and crates contained decomposing remains, fur, and bones.
More than 130 dogs died, while authorities removed 87 living dogs from the property. The ones who died had starved, and a number of them had even been buried alive.
Many survivors needed immediate veterinary care, and animal welfare groups coordinated treatment and emergency foster placements. The 54 dogs seized in March were released to a Montgomery County rescue facility for placement and care.
“That was a traumatizing experience for everybody involved. It’s very hard to stop seeing it,” dog rescuer Tina Nedd told FOX 26 Houston.
