LFT gave out 75 vegan ice cream bars made with almond and coconut milks by So Delicious, and people couldn’t get enough. One person came back to grab another after realizing how delicious vegan ice cream was, and several others told LFT that they had seen the brand before in the grocery store and will definitely buy it now.

Cows are intelligent and complex individuals who produce milk for the same reason all mammals do – to feed their babies. In order for cows used for dairy to keep producing milk, they have to be pregnant. In animal agriculture, cows are forcibly impregnated by artificial insemination, and then their babies are torn from them hours or days later so the milk can be given to humans instead. Mother cows often cry out for their babies for weeks after they are taken away.

Luckily, it’s easy to opt for dairy-free alternatives of the foods we love that don’t cause any cruelty to cows.

Grocery stores nationwide carry delicious plant-based ice creams, milks, and cheeses made from cashews, oats, soy, and more! And there’s an ever-growing list of restaurants that are starting to carry non-dairy alternatives, too.

Next time you’re at the store, check out the dairy-free ice cream options and give them a try! We don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
