Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Lady Freethinker’s Animal Aid Fund has helped provide food, shelter, and veterinary care to dogs and cats rescued from the streets of Mexico —  including spay/neuter services to 600 dogs and cats in underserved Yucatan villages.

Beach Dog of Costa Maya Mexico saves dogs in deplorable conditions, nursing them back to help at their shelter, and then finding them forever, loving homes. The organization also facilitates medical clinics in areas of Mexico where there is little access to veterinarians to ensure that cats and dogs are spayed or neutered and receive much-needed veterinary care. LFT is proud to support their efforts with grant funds graciously provided by YOU – our amazing supporters!

The support these animals received has not only provided immediate relief but also helped create a future with fewer stray animals through vital spay/neuter surgeries.

Here are just a few of the animals whose lives were changed thanks to LFT’s incredible supporters and Beach Dog Rescue:

Baby Annie Before & After

A small, two-month-old puppy named Annie was brought to rescuers at a recent spay clinic. Covered in ticks, she was partially paralyzed on her left side and could only drag herself in circles when trying to move.

Thanks to her treatment, and the support of LFT’s donors who funded her medical care — including vitamins, medications, water therapy, and massages — she’s regaining mobility and discovering what it means to be a puppy. She’s thriving, playing with the other pups at the shelter and can’t wait to find her forever family!

Churro Before & After

Churro and her sister Sugar were rescued from a home after experiencing severe neglect. Starving and desperate, the sisters had actually eaten their brother’s body after he died – apparently from starvation.

Churro, whose body was covered in scars, was so severely starved that her body began breaking down muscle to survive, and she had to receive a life-saving blood transfusion, enabled by funds from LFT’s compassionate supporters.

Fortunately, the two sisters slowly healed and grew stronger, more playful, and more at peace with each passing day. In April, they were flown to the U.S. where they will be placed into loving forever homes.

Tres

Tiny Chihuahua puppy Tres was found abandoned on the road, shaking in fear and covered in fleas. With a congenital deformity leaving her with only three legs, rescuers thought it was likely that a breeder threw her away. Tres was brought back to the shelter, received treatments thanks to LFT’s Animal Aid fund grant, and went on to be adopted by a family in New York who flew to Mexico to take her back to her forever home!

These powerful transformations are a testament to what compassion and community can achieve.

LFT is incredibly grateful to our supporters and Beach Dog Rescue for saving these amazing animals. With your help, we can continue building a kinder world for all beings.
