Pennsylvania State Senator Frank Farry’s day took a surprising turn when a tiny kitten was found trapped under his vehicle’s hood in Middletown Township, Pennsylvania, according to local news.

Shortly after leaving his home, the Senator heard the distressed cries of an animal coming from within his car while he was driving.

“I’m like, what is that?” Farry said. “So I turned the radio down. I think there’s an animal in my car that sounds like a cat.”

So he pulled over, lifted the hood, and spotted the little kitten in the engine compartment. Perry then reached out to animal control to help retrieve the feline.

The officer arrived, donned her gloves, and managed to coax the little kitten out — who, thankfully, was unharmed.

After the rescue, the kitten was brought to a shelter, where she was named “Frankie” in honor of the Senator. Farry later stopped by to see how she was doing.

“She’s doing good,” he stated. “She had some fleas. They got her bathed and cleaned up. They said she was not malnourished.”

Frankie is not currently up for adoption, as the shelter reportedly believes she may already have a guardian.

Lady Freethinker is grateful to everyone involved in Frankie’s rescue and encourages people to keep their cats indoors and check their vehicles for hidden animals, especially in the colder months.
