A dog who had been missing for months was amazingly reunited at an Alabama shelter where her guardian happens to work, as reported by the Miami Herald.
The pup named Emma went missing from her guardian Cheyenne’s home when she was let out for a bathroom break and vanished.
In a frantic pursuit for her beloved companion, Cheyenne searched the neighborhood and knocked on doors, hoping someone had spotted her, but she was nowhere to be found.
Several months passed, and a kind-hearted individual found Emma, took her in, and attempted to locate her family. Unsuccessful, the good Samaritan then decided to take Emma to a shelter in Boaz.
When Emma arrived at the shelter, she was “timid”— until she recognized Cheyenne’s voice. At that moment, she became ecstatic, “wagging her tail and jumping,” according to the shelter.
“Emma ran straight to her, and she picked her up and just started licking her all in the face,” 2nd Chance Shelter Assistant Manager Jenny Harris said. “Cheyenne started crying, which made us all teary. And we couldn’t believe it. We were very excited because you could see how much she loved her mama.”
Lady Freethinker is overjoyed that Emma was reunited with Cheyenne and now has a second chance at life with her loving guardian.
