Bentley somehow ended up in a tree, surrounded by thick brush and unable to find his way back down. The golden retriever needed a ladder, steady hands, and a little help from local firefighters.
Firefighters arrived in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, on July 13 and found Bentley in a “precarious position,” according to the Gladwyne Volunteer Fire Company. Dense brush surrounded the tree and made it difficult to reach him.
Crews positioned a long ladder through the vegetation. One firefighter stayed at its base as another climbed toward Bentley, who watched from above. When help finally reached him, photos from the rescue show Bentley stretching his front paws toward the firefighter.
Firefighters brought Bentley safely down from the tree. Bentley and his rescuers all came through unharmed.
Firefighters are used to rescuing cats from trees. This time around, however, it was a golden retriever waiting for a way down. The fire company joked that Gladwyne likes to keep things unique.
