A family of baby raccoons, found apparently living inside the walls of San Francisco’s Chase Center, were rescued and brought to a local wildlife rescue, according to local news.
After receiving a report about baby raccoons trapped behind the arena’s walls, San Francisco Animal Care and Control responded to the scene and rescued two kits.
The officers later returned to the building after staff reported seeing another baby raccoon whose head was stuck in a wall. Working as a team, one officer gently repositioned the raccoon, and another pried the tile away from the building, allowing them to free the baby.
Following the rescues, the babies were placed in the care of Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue in San Francisco.
However, the arena had provided shelter to more than just three: Chase Center’s manager located two additional kits, who were then taken to the same wildlife center to reunite with their siblings.
Unfortunately, the mother of the baby raccoons was not found, but her little ones are now safe and recovering. The group includes three boys — Babyface, Buddard, and Jimmy — and two girls, Babyface2 and Tips.
Lady Freethinker is grateful to the compassionate staff at Chase Center, the heroic officers of San Francisco Animal Care and Control, and the team at Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue for rescuing and taking care of these baby raccoons.
