A large German Shepherd named Arlo was rescued by the Kingston Fire Department and Plaistow Fire Department (PFD) after falling into a well in Kingston, New Hampshire, local news reported.
Arlo fell approximately 20 feet into the well during freezing conditions after a snow plow displaced the well’s lid.
At first, PFD unsuccessfully tried to use a rope to secure Arlo and pull him up, a Facebook post explained. When that didn’t work, a rescuer was lowered into the hole using a tripod, and he was able to bring Arlo up to safety.
After spending the night at the vet, Arlo was in deemed in good condition and returned home to his family.
Lady Freethinker applauds the two fire departments for their rescue efforts, and are thankful Arlo is on the mend.
