Welcome to the first-ever episode of Lady Freethinker’s Activists In Action interview series, where LFT Founder Nina Jackel gets the scoop on how animal advocates around the world are making real change.
We are thrilled to have animal-rights superstar Marc Abraham — or “Marc the Vet” — as our inaugural guest. Marc founded Lucy’s Law to stop puppy mills in the UK – a tremendous success!

Great interview, thank you! Thank you for the work you are both doing to advocate for animals by changing laws and getting the word out to the public. I really appreciated when you spoke about the fox hunter and how he helped so much with this campaign. People can have different levels of alignment and still work together. I see rescuers arguing over little things instead of working together to accomplish more than going it alone and fighting with anyone who sees things differently in some aspects.
Thank you!
Nina, you are a remarkable human being . Animal lovers can only hope you become a World role model for animal rights.
Excellent interview with Marc the Vet and wonderful to be reminded of the fantastic animal rights activists and movements that are out there. I feel inspired . Thank you
Marc Abraham, you are a star.
I am listening and so much is being done which is great! i was disappointed that Marc Abraham did not mention that he and/or there are not working on getting rid of BSL. Certainly puppy mills are horrible and must be banned but pits and dogs who look like them are being snatched from their homes, imprisoned, and too often killed. Dogs/puppies, cats and their kittens, and I think most if not all animals suffer when they are bred to be sold as commodities. I thank Mr. Abraham is doing fantastic work though and for that I thank him. Thank you, Nina, for the show.
Thanks for this post.
I loved your first presentation. Marc is outstanding!!
Merci pour tout ce que vous faites pour les animaux. J’admire les gens comme vous!
What a worthwhile video to see/listen to. Thank you Marc for all the dedicated work you do and for sharing your insights and learned outcomes from campaigning. Yes, the large long-established animal welfare groups are, in my opinion, a sham. And yes, it is so relaxing to get together with like-minded people. But essential is inclusivity, and persistence. Petitions I find are informative – they alert you to what is going on around the world regarding animal rights, and many are effective in improving the lives of our fellow creatures. Thank you Nina for what you do, and for organising this video transmission.
LOVE the first video…and look forward to many more to come! It was great to hear MarcTheVet…and his passion to get Lucy’s Law Campaign passed in UK.
This video is one of the best ways to get the word out from outside LFT.
Keep up the great work you do for all animals!
Hi Nina, hi Marc,
first of all, thank you for sharing those insights into the fight for the betterment for the conditions of our fellow creatures, regardless of dog, elephant, cat, cow or mouse. It is the empathy that moves us and the understanding that ALL LIVES MATTER. I am from Germany and I feel so inspired seeing people like you all over the world who care. That`s sooo uplifting when being confronted with the cruelty and thoughtlessness that happens to innocent animals. Animals have no idea of states, countries, and borders. For them, this is just a place where they live. We should learn from this fact. Regardless of US, German, British or other nations we should come together and work together to someday establish effective animal rights throughout this planet. I consider animals being our fellow creatures that deserve being treated with respect and that should be granted the same degree of protection we demand for humans. Animals are no lesser beings and should be treated like that. So again, ALL LIVES MATTER, that`s the bottom line, and I am grateful to see the both of you doing whatever you can to make this world a better place for animals (and us). Thank you, Nina, for introducing the ‘Activists In Action’ series to learn from.
And one more word on this website: I often come here and I am also a recipient of your newsletter. What distinguishes this site from many other animal protection websites in a remarkably positive way, is that guests or visitors also find a lot of encouragement by many examples of aid that humans provide. So this is not just about bad news all over but it also shows a ray of light and a ray of hope. Thank you, Nina, and whoever helps you to get this important work done. – Reinhold
Thank you Nina for sharing such hopeful news. A very heartfelt thank you to you Marc for your dedication and hard work to help the defenceless young creatures. It is so good to hear that progress is being made in my country and I am even prouder that the amazing campaigner is from my home town, Please continue and know that you have very strong support.
What is being done to stop the cat and dog meat trade in China dogs being boiled alive, skined alive and battered to death also.
I say stop all trade to these countries that do this evil trade hit them where it hurts in their pockets, dont buy anything from these countries, they are evil, barbaric people, they should have laws on the cat and dog meat trade as it’s ilegal to eat cats and dogs, also beating donkeys to death with a hammer for their meat is nothing safe from these people they will be eating one another soom, they make my blood boil.
I know people are doing their best to rescue these animals from these butchers but more must be done to out law this trade!!
Thank you for all the fantastic, amazing, loving work that you do. PLEASE don’t ever stop, the world needs you 😘
Thank you Marc & Nina. Absolute Heroes.
Thank you, Marc, for being a voice to the voiceless.
