The L.A. Dodgers and Los Angeles County Animal Care Centers have teamed up to host a dog adoption event on Saturday, December 21, with approximately 100 pooches from seven shelters. Former Dodgers first baseman Steve Garvey will be in attendance, along with MasterClass dog trainer Brandon McMillen, and actress Drea de Matteo from The Sopranos.

“It’s been an unforgettable season of championship baseball but there’s no greater victory than helping an animal in need,” said Garvey. “We hope as many people as possible can show up to celebrate this important event and give these MVP dogs their forever homes.”

Adopters will leave with a free bag of Lucy Pet Food, a free impact-tested car seat or travel crate from TAVO, and a free on-site grooming session for their new family members, courtesy of Pawfect and Hollywood Mobile Grooming. Small, medium, and large dogs will be available for adoption.

“We are thrilled to be hosting this event and deeply appreciative of the Dodgers organization and their partnership,” said the L.A. County Department of Animal Care and Control Director, Marcia Mayeda. “Any opportunity to help find homes for more animals is invaluable, and we expect this event to make a significant impact in getting animals out of care centers and into loving homes, just in time for the holiday season.”

As Christmas draws closer, what better present could be given to a shelter dog than a safe and peaceful home with a loving family? We encourage animal lovers in the area to attend this special event and help give these dogs the lives they deserve.

The event will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dodger Stadium, 1000 Vin Scully Ave., Los Angeles 90012. Attendees will meet in the parking lot at the 76 gas station, enter through Sunset Gate A, and park in Lot H.
