A North Carolina cat was brutally punched in the head, likely causing the feline unimaginable pain and ultimately leading to the cat’s death, according to Iredell Free News.
The Moorseville Police Department wrote on Facebook that the cat’s guardian reported the incident to them. Some of the abuse that the cat suffered was captured on a camera inside the home. The guardian provided the footage when officers arrived. In an explanation of the footage, officers said that they “observed multiple instances of the suspect punching, restraining by body weight, and otherwise incapacitating the cat in question.” The cat was severely injured in the incident and unfortunately did not recover.
Police said that the abuser was arrested, “charged with felony cruelty to animals,” and taken into custody on a $5,000 bond.
Cats deserve to be protected and kept safe. The video footage of this callous act shows that the attacker had no regard for the life and well-being of this innocent cat.
