PETITION TARGET: Colorado City Marshal Robb Radley
UPDATE (2/21/2022): The Humane Society of Utah told Lady Freethinker that no one was arrested in connection with this crime but that Sterling survived after being cared for by RSQ Dogs+, a rescue organization that also paid for his medical care. While we are disappointed no one was held accountable for this atrocious act, we are grateful to the caring people who stepped up for Sterling and to the more than 36,400 people who signed our petition pushing for a thorough investigation. —Lady Freethinker Staff

Tied up and set on fire, a distressed and critically injured cat named Sterling desperately looked for help, wandering into a yard in Hildale, Utah where he was rushed to a veterinarian for life-saving procedures.
The medical exam revealed severe wounds and suggests Sterling endured torture, according to ABC4.
“Hildale is known to be a tough spot for animals,” Humane Society of Utah advocacy director Rachel Heatley said, “but this level of cruelty should unnerve the community. In the interest of public safety, an individual who is capable of torturing an animal needs to be identified and taken off the street as soon as possible.”
Sterling deserves justice, and the person(s) responsible for bounding, torturing, and setting this defenseless cat on fire must answer for their actions. Sign this petition urging the Colorado City Marshal Robb Radley to use all available resources to identify and charge the perpetrator(s) and show that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in Utah.
This is an ongoing investigation offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the individual(s) responsible. Anyone with information is urged to call the Colorado City Marshal’s Office at 928-875-2695. You may report anonymously.
