PETITION TARGET: Crime Stoppers of Flint & Genesee County
In a heartbreaking case of cruelty and neglect, two emaciated German Shepherds named Ringo and Star — in desperate need of urgent medical care — were allegedly locked in a cage and left to die in a pond in Flint, Michigan, according to a Genesee County Animal Control Facebook post.
After several hours, the dogs reportedly broke out of the cage. Ringo, too weak to move, was left trapped in the mud — but Star managed to chase down a passing vehicle and guide the driver back to Ringo so they both could be rescued.
However, the extensive damage their bodies had sustained over time had taken a devastating toll, and their story soon took yet another tragic turn.

While Star was able to receive emergency surgery to remove foreign animal bones from her stomach, Ringo had to be euthanized due to multiple severe injuries and illnesses, including advanced pneumonia, sepsis, a dislocated hip, a severe bone infection, and other complications.
So far, no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with this horrific crime, and those responsible for inflicting such suffering on Ringo and Star remain at large.
After everything they endured, Star must now face life without her companion and live with the scars of her trauma — but we can use our voices to call for justice for these innocent dogs.
Sign our petition urging Flint Police to investigate this case thoroughly to locate those responsible and hold them accountable — before any other animals are harmed.
