PETITION TARGET: Pasadena Police
Innocent green parrots have seemingly been gunned down in San Gabriel Valley, California – in what appears to be a targeted string of attacks that has tragically left many dead, as reported by CBS News. The innocent birds have been found injured or dead with broken wings and ammunition in their bodies.
At least 14 birds have died after suffering gruesome injuries.
Some birds have even suffered the loss of their wings and fallen out of the sky after being shot – unable to fly and in agony. Even if they survive, birds whose wings have been shot off their bodies will never fly again.
At least one of the surviving birds has spent months rehabilitating from the excruciating experience. No animal should suffer such senseless violence.
“Broken wings, missing wings, one came in just yesterday that was missing half his wing,” Cleo Watts, a wildlife rehabilitator helping to treat the victims, said about the attacks. “Broken legs, a lot of them are shot down dead.”
These innocent birds deserve to be flying free, not being cruelly gunned down and and unable to ever fly again after losing a wing – or their life.
A suspect has yet to be identified. The birds who call San Gabriel Valley home remain imperiled and we are calling on the local authorities to do everything in their power to find justice for these animals.
Sign our petition urging Pasadena police to thoroughly investigate and apprehend the person(s) responsible, before they have the chance to harm another animal and/or human.
